Ironing The Leather Jacket
Easiest and the most common way of getting rid of wrinkles is to press the leather jacket but wait a second. If you place a heated iron on the leather, it is most likely to burn. So here’s what you need to do in order to iron the jacket without any damage;
Take a cotton or linen cloth, place it on the top of your jacket. Keep the temperature of the iron between low and medium. Select a small portion of the jacket at a time and start pressing. Never spray water on the jacket like you might do with other clothes. The process could be tiring and time taking, the key is to be patient to get the best results.
Steaming The Leather Jacket
You can take your jacket to a professional for steaming but there are some other creative ways to do that at home as well. Hang the jacket using a hanger in the dry section of your washroom while taking a shower. Hot water creates natural steam in closed spaces that are helpful in getting rid of the wrinkles. Or you can just turn on the steam in your washroom and hang your jacket there while getting ready. It is totally up to your convenience. This is the cheapest option to have a wrinkle-free leather jacket.
Using Weight To Remove Wrinkles
Take your jacket and place it on a table or any flat and hard surface. This is the time to put to use those heavy books in your home library. Remove any wrinkles using your fingers and place the books on top of your jacket. It would help straighten out the jacket if you stretch it a bit before placing the weight on top. You can work the full jacket at the same time or if you’re short on heavy books, do small portions, and repeat the process. For great results, it is recommended to leave the jacket like this overnight and it will be all set in the morning.
Wearing It to Remove Wrinkles
One way to get rid of wrinkles is to let gravity and nature do its job. We are all aware that human body temperature is pretty high and when combined with gravity, it can help reduce wrinkles from the jacket. It might be a long process, longest of all but requires least effort and resources. You can wear your leather jacket around in the house the day before you plan to wear it for a hangout or a meeting. Stretch your arms and swing them back and forth to get better results.
